They deny it. The candidate for mayor of Lima and leader of Popular Renovation, Rafael López Aliagastated that the National Prosecutor, Zoraida Avaloswould be ratified this Tuesday, March 2 as a member of the National Board of Justice (JNJ).
Indeed, through a message spread on their social networks, López Aliaga pointed out that there was “a process of ratification” of Zoraida Ávalos and that said event was not being broadcast as required by law.
“A friend just told me at this moment is the process of ratification of Zoraida Avalos in the National Board of Justice. They are not broadcasting anything on Justicia TV or on Channel 7, despite the fact that the law says that they are public hearings. Do you want to ratify it by horseback…? ”, He wrote on his Twitter account.

However, sources of Public ministry assured to The Republic what the version of the former presidential candidate is “false”, since currently the National Board of Justice only began interviews with judges and supreme prosecutors on March 1in which is included Zoraida Avalos. Furthermore, they mentioned what “There are several months left” for said process to conclude.
Last September, the National Board of Justice called for the ratification process of 200 magistrates at the national levelincluding the president of the Judiciary, Elvia Barrios-Alvaradoand the National Prosecutor, Zoraida Avalos.
This process allows evaluating the performance and suitability of a magistrate every seven years, with the aim of decide whether to continue or be expelled from the magistracy.

In addition to the highest authorities of the Power of attorney and the Public ministrythe supreme prosecutor was summoned Paul Sanchezthe deputy supreme prosecutors Alcides Chinchay and Liz Benavides Vargas and the supreme judges César San Martín, Víctor Prado Saldarriaga, Jorge Salas Arenas and Janet Tello.
