They denounce "violation of due process" in the trial against Félix Roiz, his wife and mother-in-law

William Roiz Murillo, father of the political prisoner Felix Roizdenounced that the judicial process that his son and his wife are facing, Ana Carolina Alvarez Horvilleur and her mother-in-law Jeanine Horvilleur Cuadrathe latter of French Nicaraguan nationality, since “its beginning is null” because the Nicaraguan authorities “have violated due process.”

“My son, Mr. Félix Ernesto Roiz Sotomayor, is innocent of the accusations made against him by the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Police, he does not belong to any political party, he is not a political activist, neither he nor his wife Ana Carolina Alvarez Horvilleur are INNOCENT, NOT CRIMINAL,” assured the father of the hostage of the dictatorship in a publication on his account Facebook.

He also noted that the judge Rolando Salvador Sanarrusia Munguíaof the Sixth Criminal District Court of Managua, Félix Roiz “was not allowed a private lawyer, but instead appointed a public defender, violating the Code of Criminal Procedure.”

William Roiz Murillo also denounced that since the “kidnapping” of his son on September 13, “they have not allowed him any communication with his family.”

“The arrest record says that they were arrested on September 29 at 8:00 a.m., 2022, when he was illegally detained by the police on September 13 between 9 and 11 at night. Looking for his father-in-law Javier Alvarez Zamora who is asylum seeker in Costa Rica,” he explained.

He added that “the Public Prosecutor’s Office provides evidence of private cell phones illegally occupied that same night by the police, who will be “witnesses” and experts in the biased trial. Everything occupied by the police is illegal without a competent judge’s order.

In addition, in his publication, the father of the political prisoner Félix Roiz listed several articles of the Nicaraguan Constitution and the Criminal Procedure Code that the Nicaraguan authorities are violating in the judicial process against his son, his daughter-in-law Ana Carolina Álvarez Horvilleur and Jeaninne Horvilleur Cuadra .

The Ortega Prosecutor’s Office accuses the three citizens of allegedly “conspiring to undermine national integrity” and of “spreading false news”, crimes with which Ortega y Murillo has imprisoned several opposition leaders.

Félix Roiz, husband of Ana Álvarez Horvilleur and son-in-law of Jeannine Horvilleur Cuadra, were detained by the Ortega Police when they were looking for opposition member Javier Álvarez Zamora, father-in-law, father and husband respectively, who managed to leave Nicaragua to request international protection.

William Roiz Murillo sued the Ortega Murillo regime for the immediate release of his son, wife, and his mother-in-law. «All innocent.
