After the broadcast of Gala number 88 of the house of the famous Colombia 2, in which the fourteenth day of nomination was carried out and Emiro Navarro was obliged to eliminate one of his classmates – decision that fell on Andrés Altafulla -, apparently, an alarming wave of violence in social networks would have been unleashed, accompanied by physical threats addressed both to his family.
In the last hours, Emiro’s legal team published a statement in which they reject “any type of hate demonstration, violent statement, homophobic message, discriminatory attitude and threat that threatens its integrity and that of their family”.
According to the document, after what happened in the most recent Gala, Emiro has been the target of multiple violent expressions in social networks, which have climbed to alarming levels, to the point of directly affecting their family environment.
The participant’s family would have been the victim of intimidation and threats on the outskirts of his residence, to the point that “neither Emiro nor their family can freely circulate in their own neighborhood, under the risk of being physically assaulted,” they said.

Called to the respect and warning of legal actions
The legal team emphasized that this type of behavior cannot be normalized and that, if continuing, legal actions will be taken before the competent authorities. “No one deserves to be attacked by their orientation, beliefs or their decisions product of participation in an entertainment format,” they said.
They also called for sense, respect and empathy, remembering that, even if it is a reality show, the decisions of the participants should not be a reason to encourage hate or justify violence.
Despite the difficult situation, the statement also highlighted the support received by followers and allies, who have expressed their solidarity with Emiro and his family.
