
The Committee for the Freedom of Political Prisoners in Venezuela (Clippve) denounced on Thursday the Transfer of five political prisoners From Barinas state to prisons in Miranda. The organization warned that this decision increases the vulnerability of detainees and limits the accompaniment of their relatives.

Inhuman prison conditions
The organization denounced that sending detainees to distant prisons hinders the assistance of their relatives and exposes them to a prison system that, he said, does not guarantee minimum conditions of living. He pointed out deficiencies in food, medical care, access to drinking water, hygiene and recreation spaces.
“Submiting them to a penitentiary system with inhuman conditions (…) does not guarantee what is established by Venezuelan law (…), much less the mandela principles are fulfilled, recognized by the United Nations as minimum standards for the decent treatment of persons deprived of liberty,” said the organization.
Clippve demanded the immediate release of Villamizar, Machín, Rivas, Jorge and Osorio, and called on the international community to maintain attention to the situation of the political prisoners in Venezuela.
