Mothers of the San Liceo José Diocesan Educational Center, in the municipality of Belén, in Rivas, say they feel tired of the ill-treatment received by the director Claudia Flores Pérez.
According to those affected, during the years this school was opened, never before had so many complaints been filed by parents and primary and secondary students; The Betlemite school was in great demand by the population of this municipality, but supposedly, since the mandate of Flores Pérez the changes have been drastic and some parents have made the decision to remove their children to other educational centers.
“We are already tired of the ill-treatment received by the director, she treats our children badly, she asks students for any amount of money to carry out curricular activities at the center and we as parents are not accountable for what was spent or how the money was used, he is always on the defensive, he asks for money to fix the field, for painting and the school continues in the same way, many parents were forced to prevent their children from finishing at this school, for the same reason reprehensible treatment of this lady,” said Paola del Carmen López Cortes, who has her daughter in her second year of high school.
Teachers complained and were fired
According to the mothers of the family, the complaints were not only made by them, but also four teachers sent a letter to the Diocese of Granada, thus presenting their disagreements. The teachers worked in this educational center for several years, but they were dissatisfied with the treatment they received from the director and days later they were notified of their dismissal, despite the fact that they had filed their complaints with the authorities that govern the educational center, but apparently they were not heard.
“Everyone here in Belén knows what is happening in this school, her attitude towards parents is arrogant, and the corresponding authorities do absolutely nothing to stop this situation, we even received threats from her, about the suspension of promotions. and everything is what she says, without first listening to the father of the family”, affirms a mother, who for fear that her daughter would not receive her high school degree, preferred to omit her name.
Parents demand to be heard
“She does not have patience, she abuses her authority, here she asks for money but we cannot see what she uses that money for, because the infrastructure remains the same, we demand that the Diocese of Granada do something, because here every year more are being withdrawn children and adolescents to other schools, the treatment she provides is terrible, we want to talk to the parent in charge of this school, because the only thing we receive is threats and we are not listened to, even to ask for the transfer sheet for our children is a great problem,” stressed one of the interviewees.
“In this school my children have managed to graduate from high school and the attention was good, my son was a participant in the first promotion of high school in this educational center and the percentage of students was incredible, we need them to change the director or to change the way in which that she expresses herself, I only needed to cry for her to understand the situation we were going through, she did not allow my grandson to take an exam because we had not yet paid for certain months, the economic situation is difficult and she must understand, “said Martha María Rivas.

The educational center was founded more than 70 years ago, in the municipality of Belén, Rivas and is in charge of Father Mario Sandoval, representative of the Diocesan schools.
When consulting the director of surnames Flores Pérez about the complaint and disagreements that the parents were making, she assured that she was not authorized to provide any type of statement and that she is the one who has suffered abuse from the parents.
