Deputy María José Salazar, denounced that in a matter of days the arrival of containers full of tickets of different cuts and currencies of Bs 1 direct for the Central Bank of Bolivia is expected. The origin of these containers is still unknown, but said that the respective report will be requested.
“Through people who saw the documents, we learned that 13 containers are in the port of Chile, with 256 pallets full of Bs 10, 20 and 50 bills, in addition to Bs 1. Coins each container has Bs 112 million and in Total are Bs 1,465 million, “Salazar detailed to El duty Radio.
According to Salazar’s version, “we need this amount because there is no sufficient national currency. The Central Bank of Bolivia had to pay debts last year.”
He added that they still do not find the contract that dates from 2023, “which is the one that authorizes the purchase of these tickets, but we still do not know if in these quantities.”
The deputy assumes that these tickets were printed in France, but said it will be corroborated through a request for a report. “At the moment it is only known is that they left the port of Helsinki (Finland).”
