This Wednesday, November 3, the INE workers carried out a work stoppage, between 10 am and 12 noon, in rejection of the management model applied by the institute, which “does not take into account workers and does not respect their rights, precarious work and salary.
“While heads are appointed by finger, vacancies are returned, dismantling the service, new methodologies are inaugurated and the workloads of the section workers are reduced, and therefore their income,” denounces the union.
It also ensures that since August, these workers “collect their salaries in parts, generating uncertainty, without knowing if they will be able to pay the bills for the month, leaving debtors for rent and bills.”
Outsourcing
The INE union remarks that the institute outsources functions in official surveys and in the census, hiring private companies instead of resorting to Institute workers. “The INE is the governing body of official statistics, publishes the indices of employment, unemployment, CPI, among others, which have a direct impact on public policies and price adjustments, rates and wages.”
“With the workers subjected to these working conditions, with arbitrary restructures and methodological changes that generate uncertainty, are official statistics going to be made? Is this the project of the administration and the government? What products of the INE can society expect in these circumstances ?, asks the union of officials of the INE.
