During the fourth march of the so -called Gene generation, Peru National Police Agents (PNP) broke into the shipiba community of Cantagallolocated near Acho, although its members did not participate in the mobilization against the government of Dina Boluarte. According to the community members, the troops launched tear pumps and fired pellets within the settlement of anyone they would find.
“The police have entered to throw forgives to anyone they found. We have nothing to do. We have gone to close the door so that they do not enter and have thrown bullets and so it cannot be. My other partner has hit the leg, in the knee, they have injured him and so it cannot be. Here they have thrown us a bullet, we are residents, we have nothing to do with the demonstration, we are citizens that we are here.
Another of the community members denounced that the agents entered their homes for no reason and that fathers, mothers and children were playing. He also explained that they fired pellets to his home despite his claim.
“Yesterday night the police have come, the Protestants were on the avenue (…) The police ran towards us, the children were playing here, they have entered the front and they were putting forgives, my whole house. I have 3 children, they have cried, they have shouted. How are they going to come like this if we are not protest? As if we were animals, how are they going to do that?”
“They have entered without permission, all the children hitting, the protest was in the corner there, it was not here inside the community (…) my daughter -in -law has a large wound, she does not live here, but I was visiting,” said another common one.
