The Panorama program revealed this Sunday that the thesis of the Minister of Labor, Betssy Chavezwould present plagiarism in several of its sections, as shown by the application of the Turnitin program, which identifies coincidences of academic works with other sources.
The Sunday newspaper pointed out that 49% of the minister’s thesis, which was presented to obtain the title of lawyer, coincides with other texts without being properly cited.
“We are facing entire pages that have been copied, it is a crude and poorly done plagiarism”Percy Mayta-Tristán, director of research at the Universidad Científica del Sur, told the program.
The program shows a series of sections of Chávez’s work in which texts from other works are copied and pasted. In some cases, the entry of the paragraphs is slightly modified and then only the content is copied and pasted.
Even in one of the plagiarisms, the minister copies a paragraph in which a number appears that refers to a footnote, which contains a quote, but in Chávez’s thesis that footnote is not recorded despite including the rest of the text.

Before the broadcast of the report, the minister used her social networks to point out that it was a political response for actions that had been taken from her portfolio. “They need to try a little harder”wrote.
