After a sit-in that the students of the Training Center of Antioquia -CEFA- in Medellin, for the cases of sexual harassment that were presented with a physical education teacher, graduates denounced that the cases have been going on for years and that the institution’s directives did not activate the service route on time.
This was made known after the Medellín Mayor’s Office announced the installation of an inter-institutional table that outlined various preventive actions in this and the other 228 institutions of the capital of Antioquia, during a meeting attended by city authorities, directors, representatives of parents and students of the educational institution.

Councilwoman Dora Saldarriaga affirmed that, although he summoned graduates to this meeting, they were not listened to by the institution, because it has been known that There are testimonies from the past that show that the case is not new.
“I met with students and graduates. The first manifestation is that this is not just now, but that it takes a long time, who already had knowledge of the case, not formal complaints, but it was vox populi in Cefa what was happening and there was no intervention, until the girls filed the complaint”said the councilwoman.

In contrast, the Municipal Administration stated that the directives of the CEFA activated the service route and informed the Secretary of Education“from the moment they became aware of the situation”.
“Ignore what the graduates were going to tell them, because that was going to show is that they have not done the route”, Saldarriaga added.
Saldarriaga stated that female students are persecuting groups of students in particularafter the facts that came to light and it is expected that in the coming weeks it will be a political control debate in the Medellin Council.
For now, the directors of the institution summoned each of the representatives of the students to a meeting this Monday, March 14, in order to listen to your concerns.
