Madrid, Spain.- The Complaints Center of the Foundation for Pan American Democracy (FDP) record 214 incidents of harassment, persecution and arbitrary arrests in Cuba during the month of March 2025. The main victims were independent activists, political opponents, artists and communicators, in what the organization qualifies as a sustained escalation of repression against dissident voices.
Of the total documented cases, 56 % corresponds to men and 44 % to women. The most affected provinces were Matanzas (56 cases), Havana (47) and Santiago de Cuba (44), reflecting a surveillance and repression pattern extended throughout the country.
Among the most serious cases is that of the political activist and prisoner Mario Alberto Hernández LeyvaVice President of the Oppositors Movement for a New Republic (Monr) and promoter of the Cuba Cuba Campaña decides. He is currently being held in the Maximum Security Prison 1580, complying with a two -year -old sentence of deprivation of liberty. In response to an FDP application, the Inter -American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) granted precautionary measures in its favor, recognizing the risk facing its physical integrity in prison.
With its monthly reports, the FDP reiterates its commitment to the complaint and visibility of these abuses, while calling the attention of the international community to follow the situation of Human Rights In Cuba.
