A report from the program End Point revealed alleged irregularities in Social Health Security (EsSalud) contracting, which include million-dollar contracts to companies without verifiable physical presence, alleged conflicts of interest and cost overruns in the purchase of medicines.
The research focuses on the Red Asistencial Sabogal, in Callao, where services and purchases were awarded under questionable conditions.
Among the cases exposed in the Sunday newspaper, is AMFURI Perú SAC, company that registers as an address the second floor of a chifa in front of the Hospital Alberto Sabogal Sologuren hospital and? obtained contracts for more than S/ 2 million in maintenance.
In addition, Other companies linked to the same supplier were identified that share addresses without visible operational offices and that they accumulate purchase orders for several million soles.
The report also warns of an alleged conflict of interest, since one of the suppliers would be the brother of a trusted official within EsSalud, a situation that was even observed years ago by the State Contracting Court.
The investigation also reaches managerial levels and mentions the presence of political activists of Alliance for Progress in different healthcare networks.
Comptroller
For its part, The Comptroller General of the Republic confirmed an extra cost of more than S/ 3.4 million in the acquisition of 122 medications through the delegated purchasing modality.
The report also warned about shortages of pharmaceutical products, debts with suppliers and deficiencies in critical areas, configuring a crisis scenario that directly affects thousands of policyholders.

Conflict of interest
The investigation of “Final Point” identified that AMFURI, created in 2018, has as its director Alejandro Lozano Amaya, who is also linked to the companies E & Y Engineering and Clinical Technology and Bioengineering and Hospital Services, suppliers of EsSalud. These two companies accumulate contracts for more than S/ 3.8 million in the Sabogal hospital and register an address in Lince where no office would operate.
Thus, it warns of a possible conflict of interest, since Lozano Amaya is the brother of an official from the EsSalud Assistance Network in La Libertad.
