They denounce excessive spending for salaries in MRA

Ricardo Torres, a resident of Mariano Roque Alonso (MRA), denounced to this medium that the Municipality of Mariano Roque Alonso spent more on salaries than on works during 2021.

During the first 12 months of the year, the commune spent G. 9,510 million (US$ 1.4 million) in the “Hired Personnel” category. However, in the “Constructions” category, only G. 1,464 million (US$ 209 thousand) were invested.

What is striking is that the latter reflects a gradual decrease in investment in works in the last three years. Taking into account that in 2019 G. 5,044 million (US$ 719 thousand) were invested and in 2020 G. 2,027 million (US$ 289 thousand) were invested.

The opposite happens in the “Hired Personnel” category, which in 2019 required an investment of G. 9,173 million, in 2020, G. 4,981 million and in 2021, G. 9,510 million. In other words, last year the highest expense was recorded in terms of salary payments.

Another significant aspect is that in the month of December these expenses skyrocket. In 2019, it paid G. 1,196 million in December alone, in 2020, it paid G. 1,225 million and in 2021, it paid G. 1,574 million.

“We keep asking ourselves who are the people hired in December and the beneficiaries of high sums,” he said. He finally said that they are sure that with all these data that they shared with the Departmental and Municipal Organizations Control Directorate of the CGR, there are more than enough arguments for them to go in and carry out their inspection. This management remains firm and we are sure that this could happen at any time, since the Deputy Prosecutor for Economic Crimes formally requested the CGR to carry out this audit.

FIREFIGHTERS
Walter Escobar, a resident of MRA, reported that they have an agreement with the commune for the study and approval of the plans. The payment corresponds to 60% for the firefighters and 40% for the commune, however, in reality, there are defaults in this aspect.

“We have registered only one job that corresponded to us G. 101 million (G. 153 million the total), but the commune just paid us G. 42 million. The municipality pays us, but we don’t know what job it corresponds to,” he lamented.
For this reason, they requested a report that was also not delivered by the communal authorities. Another irregular aspect is that firefighters are no longer summoned for the final inspection. Taking into account that, during the approval of plans, recommendations are left to the commercial premises.

The firefighter also denounces that the MRA Municipality issued a resolution stating that all businesses must have protection measures. However, in the latest update, the requirement for sprinkler installation was removed. That is, the equipment installed on the ceilings that are activated by smoke signals. This is Ordinance 27/2019. The team of this newspaper has been trying to communicate with the intendant for some time, but we have not been successful.
