The morning of this Thursday, September 1, began with mobilizations at the height of the Caracas Avenue with 22nd Street, where merchants from the town of Santa Fe invaded the lane TransMilenium to protest the lack of support from the District, added to the complaints of child exploitation in the sector.

For this reason, the Avenida Jiménez and Calle 26 stations suspended their operations for a long time, that the fleet had damming and diversions, while mobility along Avenida Caracas collapsed and citizens had to get off to walk to get to their places of work. destiny.

Insecurity in protests this Thursday in Bogotá

However, the demonstration was also marked by attempts to assaults that were reported by several citizens who were near the crowds.

According to the merchants themselves, there were people infiltrated in the protests who, in addition to blocking mobility in this part of the city, also committed assaults. “There were shirtless people diverting the TransMilenios, they pushed the motorcyclists, among ten they went to a single person. They were armed with stones, sticks, machetes and they shaved cell phones,” one of the citizens told the newspaper El Tiempo.
