However, the complaint was filed with the local Prosecutor’s Office until October 2024 because Cuauhtémoc Blanco was still in power and, in addition, the complainant received various insults and threats.
The complaint
According to file SC01/9583/2024, presented to the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Morelos, the sexual assault perpetrated by Cuauhtémoc Blanco against Fabiola “N” occurred at Casa Morelos, which is the official residence of the governor.
According to the complaint by Nadia Fabiola “N”, Ulises Bravo Molina, brother of the former América striker and president of the Morena party in the state of Morelos, also participated in the attack.
Last week, in addition, the current governor of Morelos, Margarita González Saravia, announced that she will file complaints for alleged acts of corruption committed in the Government of Cuauhtémoc Blanco between 2018 and 2024.
Although she did not mention it by name, the President, also from Morena, reported that irregularities were found in the delivery-reception process of the position that will be investigated.
“I instruct the Legal Counsel that, where appropriate, the corresponding complaints be made to the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office,”
Margarita González Saravia, governor of Morelos.
Can they put Cuauhtémoc Blanco in jail?
Cuauhtémoc Blanco is currently a federal deputy for Morena through proportional representation, representing the Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office in Mexico City.
He took possession of his seat on August 28, 2024 and took oath on September 1 of that same year as a member of the 66 Legislature for a period of three years.
His deputy is Sebastián Ramírez Mendoza, former leader of Morena in Mexico City and current undersecretary of Tourism of the federal government.
As a federal deputy, Cuauhtémoc Blanco has the benefit of constitutional jurisdiction, meaning that, although he can be notified of investigations against him, he cannot be detained or brought before a judicial authority.
With the criminal complaint for rape and threats, the defense of Nadia “N” could begin a route to request the removal of the former governor from the Chamber of Deputies or, where appropriate, for the Morelos Prosecutor’s Office itself to initiate the process.
This complaint is not the only controversy in Cuauhtémoc Blanco’s career. Since the middle of his Administration, the Financial Intelligence Unit (UIF) of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP) began an investigation against him for alleged diversion of resources, also involving several of his family members and close collaborators.
In addition, at the beginning of 2022, photographs were released in which Blanco was seen posing with Irving Eduardo Solano, alias “El Profe”, Homero Figueroa “La Tripa” and Raymundo Castro “El Ray”, leaders of Guerreros Unidos. , a criminal group accused of the disappearance of the 43 Ayotzinapa normalistas, and members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.
The then President justified the image, stating that he takes photographs “with everyone,” since many people follow him because of his soccer career and that the photograph does not mean that he has a relationship with drug traffickers.
