Until the moment of publication of this text, the whereabouts of Rusbelia Astudillo, who is an older person, and his physical condition is unknown.
Organizations assured that the detention is for political reasons and explained that this case adds to the hundreds of political prisoners in a context of “harassment and persecution” that, they say, “violates fundamental rights” and evidences the policy of “rotating door.”
Clippve The authorities demanded immediately where Rusbelia Astudillo is, guarantee their physical, emotional and psychological integrity, and allow access to their relatives, trust lawyers and medical care. They also claim respect for their right to due process and the legal defense chosen by it.
DDHH defenders insisted that these guarantees must be fulfilled not only in the case of Astudillo, but also for all people who remain unfairly detained in the country.
