They denounce a woman's arrest that was part of the presidential campaign of Edmundo González

The Committee for the Freedom of Political Prisoners said that Nancy Camacaro has been missing since July 21 and allegedly would be in the custody of the DGCIM at the Baleíta headquarters, east of Caracas. The Committee for the Freedom of Political Prisoners denounced the arbitrary detention and forced disappearance of Nancy Camacaro, 61, who was part of the electoral team during the presidential campaign of Edmundo González in the Lara state.

The committee, which replied the complaint of the relatives of Camacaro, said that the woman has been missing since July 21 and would allegedly be in custody of the General Directorate of Military Contraintintelligence (DGCIM) at the Baleíta headquarters, east of Caracas.

«Nancy resides in Barquisimeto, Lara State, and has not been able to communicate with his family or access legal assistance of his trust. It suffers hypertension and requires continuous medical treatment. In addition, it suffers pain in the column and arms and presents sudden dizziness, conditions that could be aggravated without adequate medical attention », detailed The organization in social networks.

Family members and the committee demand that the whereabouts of Nancy Camacaro be reported and will be released immediately, their physical and emotional integrity is guaranteed, as well as access to visits, a trustworthy lawyer and specialized medical care.

«The arrest and forced disappearance of Nancy Camacaro constitutes a serious violation of human rights, contrary to the Constitution and international standards. We alert the United Nations agencies about this forced disappearance in Venezuela, ”insisted the committee.

According to the Criminal Forum, until August 4, 807 political prisoners were accounted for throughout the country. Most are men (712), in addition to 95 women. Four teenagers in Lara and La Guaira states are also behind bars.
