Gastón Silveira reported to the Police a scam for $500,000, but the officer in charge could not file the complaint. “She is my partner, she is not here because she just has a pregnancy leave,” they told her. It was there that he found out that had been scammed by an official of the Ministry of Interior during the last three months.
According to Silveira in a Twitter thread, the official bought merchandise through “transfers that were false” and then I resold those products on social networks“even using the image” of your company.
Speaking to The Observer, the victim said that she has three clothing stores and denounced that the scams began three months ago, in October. In all, the scammer made about 20 purchases.
He started with trades between $2,000 and $3,000, but as he realized his strategy was working, he began to increase the amount. He came to do some shopping exceeded $30,000 and even reached $50,000Silveira said.
He later realized that she was reselling purchases on Facebook. Thus, he consulted a partner to verify if the transfers made by this client had been credited correctly, and there he found out that her colleague did not check the account statements. The woman had not made any transfer in all that time.
She bought by WhatsApp, indicated the entrepreneur, but she removed the items in person. “I have her on tape” entering the store, he asserted.
When she went to file the complaint, on January 12, she found out that she is an employee of the Ministry of the Interior, so she went directly to the Atlántida Prosecutor’s Office. “We have proof of the chats, the false transfers, photos of their networks and proof of the cadeteria that they gave them.. Nothing could be done immediately, we are at the fair, ”she wrote in her tweet.
In this regard, Silveira confirmed that one of the reasons why he went to the social network is to create a stir and for his case to be heard. To her liking, it worked: as she commented, this Wednesday received personnel from the Internal Affairs Directorate at his business of the Ministry of the Interior, while from Prosecutor contacted his lawyer.

From the Ministry of the Interior they confirmed to The Observer that the complaint was, in fact, made in the Prosecutor’s Office. For their part, from the Public Ministry they detailed that the prosecutor of Atlántida Tania Vidal is investigating the case and already ordered summons to find out more about the situation.
