Local media reported that a group of people with assault rifles arrived at the ‘El Mene’ square in the municipality of Santa Rita, in the center of the state of Zulia, on Wednesday night and shot a group of people.
According to unofficial versions, the armed subjects shot the group of people who were gathered in a house without giving any notice or saying a word. After hearing the first shots, the Police arrived at the scene, causing a confrontation.
Despite the response of the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) and the confrontation, the armed people they managed to escape in a boat on Lake Maracaibo. So far, the attack has left five people dead and two wounded.
