Agricultural producers in the Piar municipality of Bolívar state have repeatedly denounced a resident of Valle El Candado for harassment to seize his land. These complaints have not prospered, however, they assure that the defendant has made counterclaims that have been answered, based on false positives. In case of not having an answer, they warn that they will bring their protest to Caracas

It is not the first time that agricultural producers from the Piar municipality (Bolívar state), specifically from Valle El Candado, go to the Prosecutor’s Office to denounce the harassment and harassment of one of their neighbors with alleged intentions of seizing their land. Several of them even have protection measures that they claim are not complied with by the defendant, who now appears as a counter-plaintiff of those affected, for whom they have observed greater judicial diligence.
“We producers from the Piar municipality came to the city, we stopped our activities because we are already tired of a man named Orlando Aguilar who has messed with all the peasants, trying to displace us, simulating events that are not true and bringing them to this Prosecutor’s Office , which in an exemplary and fast manner receives all the false complaints and that they somehow send to the security agencies, such as the National Guard and Cicpc”, denounced George Bello, agricultural producer.
He recalled all the complaints that have been made and that to date there is no concrete result by the competent institutions.
“Do you want us to deliver the production? Well, no, we come to demand justice. We ask for a clear investigation because we presume that there is judicial terrorism in this case. We are not going to stop production. If a person, using the means of justice is going to want to replace us, they are wrong, we are producers, the food that is eaten in almost all of Caroní at the level of vegetables and agricultural products, is produced in Piar. If they don’t stop us here, we’ll go talk to the attorney general in Caracas, so he can investigate,” Bello said.
He also questioned that the accused threatens them with a summons document, which is only handled by prosecutors.
«Once again another letter is delivered to the Prosecutor’s Office, due to the abuses and harassment to which we have been subjected. This man, José Orlando Aguilar Guevara, has dedicated himself to disturbing the production of our country and attempts against food sovereignty. We have had to request protection measures before the court of first instance. The Prosecutor’s Office 16 also granted protection measures in favor of one of our producers and this man violates the protection measures and nothing happens”, denounced the also agricultural producer Josanna Sebastia.
He stressed that, although he encourages other producers to report, they are discouraged when observing the lack of response from the authorities.
“Then this man comes with his intention to distort what is happening and he became an ex officio whistleblower. He comes to this Prosecutor’s Office, makes complaints about the same causes, making use and abuse of State mechanisms, creating judicial congestion, so that all the prosecutors focus on him and nothing more, and makes false accusations against the producers. He knows that he has committed crimes of disturbance and conspiracy against the workers. He now accuses the neighbors who are producing so that they stop their agricultural activities, “said Sebastia.
He added: “He denounces us as thieves, that we have drugs, weapons… I would like them to go there to see how many liters of milk are produced, kilos of cheese, paprika, tomatoes, bananas.”
Around 30 agricultural producers are affected, who have 30, 25 and 18 years dedicated to this activity in the area.
