Relatives and friends of a minor who was raped protested at the gates of the Palace of Justice in Caracas, because they fear that the defendant will be released from committing the crime.
María Mercedes Adnoli Caro, mother of the minor, said that her daughter suffered continued abuse presumably perpetrated by Pablo José Zapata, who is in turn the victim’s godfather.
«It was a continued abuse for four months; The girl spoke on June 4, 2021 because she had her under death threat with a firearm that they got from her house, “said the mother of the minor who demanded justice.
María Mercedes denounced that the 3rd Trial Court of Caracas is supposedly favoring the accused. She said that the trial is already in the conclusion phase.
“We fear that the accused will be released and leave the country,” said María Mercedes.
The abuse of the minor occurred in a building located in Bosques de La Lagunita, El Hatillo municipality, Miranda state. “I went to work and left my daughter at home; he is her uncle, her godfather at her baptism, he was from the family environment, ”said the victim’s mother.
Among the evidence presented by the Public Ministry during the oral debate of the trial are the psychiatric, psychological and gynecological-anal tests, carried out at the National Service of Forensic Sciences (Senamef).
