Reyes demands that they allow her to receive a visit from her two daughters, three and five years old, whom she has not been able to see for more than a year since she has been in prison.

Miguel Mendoza has lost more than 30 pounds in prison. He demands that they allow him to see and communicate with his eight-year-old daughter, Alejandra, whom he has not seen since Ortega made him one of his more than 200 political prisoners. Larios is on a hunger strike in solidarity with Mendoza, who is his cellmate and demands specialized medical care and better nutrition.

The political prisoners from “La Modelo” denounce that they are being searched, their food is thrown away and they have also been beaten and tortured inside the cells, violating their fundamental rights. The regime of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo keeps more than 205 political prisoners in captivity in different prisons in the country, according to the Mechanisms for the Recognition of Political Prisoners in his August report. In that confinement they are subjected to cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment that has severely affected their health and physical condition, their relatives and human rights organizations repeatedly denounced.
