Early on Monday, May 9, the death of Jeyssy Moreira Silva was reported. The authorities, in the first instance, assured that the young woman committed suicide, in accordance with the opinion of the Institute of Legal Medicine. However, Moreira’s mother, Cristhian Silva, rejects this preliminary version and points to her daughter’s ex-boyfriend as the main suspect in her death.
Moreira Silva’s body was found by her ex-partner José Abraham Pineda Ramírez, in her house, located in the Américas 3 neighborhood of Managua, the mother of the deceased confirmed to THE PRESS.
Cristhian Silva assures that the eldest of his three daughters did not commit suicide, because “she has a blow to the nose, the sign of the tie on the neck is not circular, if it did not seem that someone grabbed her by the neck from behind and the place where presumably he hung up, he could not have resisted the weight of his body, because it is a small ruler that is used to hold up a curtain».

In addition, it details that the young woman had blows to the head and an “A”-shaped wound on one arm, that letter corresponds to the initial of the second name of her ex-boyfriend, identified as Jesús Abraham Pineda Ramírez, the same one who found the college girl.
Jesús Abraham was taken to Police Station Six, where he gave his interview about the events and said that Jeyssy Moreira died at two in the morning and that he was asleep at that time.
“There is a witness who looked at him awake at 1:42 on Monday morning and therefore it is not true that he was asleep there,” Cristhian Silva stressed.
The femicide suspect was released after giving his statements to the Police. The young woman’s mother demands an exhaustive investigation into the death of her daughter.
Jeyssi’s mother revealed to LA PRENSA that her daughter ended her courtship with Jesús Abraham for being a “jealous” and “schizophrenic” man, adding that the suspect climbed on the roof of the house where her daughter lived when she told him that she didn’t want to be his girlfriend anymore.
Jeyssy Moreira Silva, 20, was in her last year of Communication for Development at the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua. The young woman intended to travel to South Korea at the end of the year, in order to obtain a postgraduate degree. Currently, she had bought a car and was living in her apartment.
On the afternoon of this Tuesday, May 10, Jeyssy received a Christian burial in the Jardines del Recuerdo cemetery. The final results of the autopsy will be released to her family in a week, her mother confirmed.
