They deliver 14 bodies to relatives of the victims of the accident in Gualaca

A total of 14 bodies have been delivered to the relatives of the victims of the Gualaca accident in Chiriquí, which occurred on February 15, 2023, where 41 people died.

The Chiriquí Regional Prosecutor’s Office, that these deliveries are given by following up on the judicial proceedings that are carried out within the investigation for the crime Against Life and Personal Integrity, in the form of Manslaughter and Personal Injuries, generated by the vehicular accident as well He has handed over the belongings to relatives of the victims.

Gualaca’s person, María Eugenia Batista, in charge of the investigation, indicated that through the forensic dactyloscopy expertise carried out by the Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences (IMELCF), 31 people have been identified so far, including deceased victims and survivors. She said that the 14 remains delivered are between Panamanians, Ecuadorians and Colombians.

He stated that in order to proceed with the delivery, the bond of familiarity with the person is previously established and the belongings have been delivered, all this procedure is being developed in collaboration with the respective embassies and consulates.
