Five roadblocks on the highway to Beni, in Ascensión de Guarayos, San Ramón, Pailón, Santa María and Cerro Grande; and a blockade on the road to the north, in Buena Vista, add a new chapter to the conflicts over land that are taking place in the department of Santa Cruz. The mobilized point to President Luis Arce.
From the blockade committee on the route to Beni, which demands land titling, they announced that the measures will be toughened and that they will not give any intermediate room. They regretted that President Arce does not receive his countrymen who are in the seat of government.

One of the community members reminded the head of state, regarding Agrarian Reform Day, previously called Indian Day, that it was the peasants who put him in the presidential chair.

Meanwhile, the problems due to the cut of the road are already beginning to emerge. The fuel ran out in Guarayos, where none of the three pumps have it for sale. In the last hours, however, it was learned that the blockades let the tankers pass for refueling.

Food will also be scarce soon, according to the leaders of the protesters, who also allowed the passage of milk distributors.
In Pailón, the blockade point is located at the entrance of the Río Grande bridge, there were two intermediate rooms. In that area, the concern of the producers is also focused on the diesel used by the tractors and trucks that they use in their daily tasks.

People who have to transfer to get to the capital of Santa Cruz expressed their annoyance at the damage they face, especially financially, since they spend up to Bs 50 to get to and from the city, an amount that on regular days is Bs 20.

The leaders blame the central government for not listening to their demands, and state that the only way to be heard is through pressure.
An example is that no one from the Executive communicated with the march that left the town of Pailón on July 4 last. Those marchers, now, demand to start a dialogue only with the president, so that he knows the needs of the peasants. Dissatisfied, they affirm that they have had many meetings and agreements that have not been fulfilled.

Towards the north of the department there are also blockades in the fallen bridge of San Miguelito (Buena Vista).

According to Gustavo Ramos, president of the blockade committee, there are 800 families that request the modification of Supreme Decree 29215, which regulates Law 1715 of the National Agrarian Reform Service and establishes the social nature of agrarian law; the planning of a new Land Law; the analysis of unavailable public lands; and the annulment of forest concessions.
Although there was an intermediate quarter of an hour, a large number of stranded vehicles could still be seen on the road yesterday, especially trucks and fleets whose passengers were surprised and given the mishap, ways were given to reach their destinations.

Edson Claure, departmental deputy commander of the Police, reported on the six active roadblocks in Santa Cruz, which are located in Pailón-Puerto Ibáñez, San Ramón, Ascensión de Guarayos (toll, Santa María and Cerro Grande) and Yapacaní. However, this last point is actually already in Buena Vista.

Claure indicated that until yesterday noon approximately 730 people blocked the routes and that 610 vehicles were stranded. In his report, he detailed that, in Pailón, 250 people block the road and 200 motorists remain on the road, while in San Ramón there are 90 people and 50 vehicles. At the Guarayos toll, according to the report, there are 70 stopped vehicles; 30 in Santa María and 10 in Cerro Grande. Finally, in Buena Vista, 200 motorized vehicles wait to pass.

Conflicts related to land ownership have become recurrent in Santa Cruz, even causing armed takeovers and violent confrontations between groups that often have the support of organizations related to the ruling party.
