They criticize that Boluarte asks to close his investigation and talks about image terrorism

Former ministers question that President Dina Boluarte urges the Judiciary to order the Prosecutor’s Office to conclude the preliminary investigation that is being followed for deactivating police support to the Special Team of Prosecutors against Corruption in Power (Eficcop), as well as disqualify the complaints of the press stating that they are image terrorism.

Regarding the appeal presented by Boluarte to the Judiciary, former Prime Minister Mirtha Vásquez considered that it shows the president’s interest in leaving the cases in which she is involved unpunished.

“It is an expression of not wanting to submit to justice, because someone who does not fear a responsibility that is being attributed to him, rather faces it. It is almost an act of desperation, since the evidence is so clear that she is trying to use these mechanisms to see if she can thwart these investigations against her,” said Vásquez.

“That gives us a clear idea of the responsibilities she may have. “Clearly, given the facts of which he is accused, there is more than evidence that demonstrates his responsibility,” he added.

As is known, the deactivation of the Special Police Team occurred at a time when a judicial resolution had been issued ordering the preliminary arrest of Nicanor Boluarte and others in the ‘Los waykis en lashadow’ case. This forced the Prosecutor’s Office to investigate the relationship.

Image terrorism

For his part, the former Minister of the Interior, Carlos Basombrio, said on Canal N that stating that there is image terrorism against the president is a trivialization of what is happening, and what he seeks is to use it to question his critics. He described this attitude as grotesque and unforgivable.

In the morning, during the ceremony to pay tribute to Miguel Grau for the Angamos Combat, the president mentioned the existence of false news that seeks to damage her image.

“The war of lies, fake news, fake news, created in order to carry out image terrorism. An old method that totalitarians applied,” the president accused.

Basombrío maintained that if the president wants to clarify the information about her, she should give interviews, respond to the press. “He who owes nothing fears nothing,” he emphasized.

He commented that the questions about his government are partly due to the fact that there is no plan against crime. He indicated that an investment of resources is required in specialized areas of fighting crime, which can be done, but it is spent on airplanes, including a presidential ship.

Dialogue for democracy

Mirtha Vásquez also reported that given the serious crisis in which the country is experiencing, forums have been organized with the participation of democratic parties to see how to overcome this situation and confront the corrupt coalition that has taken over the State.

“At this moment, those of us who share democratic minimums must take a side if we want to recover the country from this mafia coalition that has the State dominated. We have to take initiatives because the situation is getting worse. The idea is to form a great democratic alliance,” he noted.

The first forum will take place on October 10, at 5:00 pm, at Derrama Magisterial. There will be the parties Now Nation (Alfonso López-Chau), New Peru for Good Living (Enver León), First People (Susel Paredes) and the Workers and Entrepreneurs Party (Napoleón Becerra).

“The aim is for the parties to begin to identify their similarities and, of course, think about a great democratic alliance where beyond our differences we look for those minimums that unite us and that are absolutely necessary at a time of democratic emergency in the country. Not only is it needed from the left, we need all the parties that share a democratic vocation to be able to come together because it is about confronting a mafia coalition. That has to be the bet,” said Mirtha Vásquez.

He added that these events will be public and will be replicated throughout the country. To attend the Lima forum you must register by entering: https://forms.gle/buTB7Cmt7V9aH2BZ7
