The senator of the Guasu Front, Sixto Pereira, recalled that Fernando Lugo’s health is above political activities and criticized Efraín Alegre for saying that he touched on electoral issues with the former president.
“Today I visited the dear Pdte Fernando Lugo. Very happy to see the progress in his treatment. I told him about the challenges of the Concertación and he expressed his desire to return to Paraguay at the end of the month. With him, with you and with all decent people, change is coming! #FuerzaLugo ”, wrote Efraín Alegre on his Twitter account, with an old photograph in which he and Lugo appear.

On the point, Senator Sixto Pereira considered Alegre’s attitude irresponsible when mentioning that he touched on political issues with Lugo, since not even his closest ones talk to him about it.
“All those who want to be responsible politicians have to consider that Fernando Lugo’s health comes first.”, Pereira said in an interview with the station 1020 AM.
Added that Cheerful He has no face when writing that message and that it is rather a “sign of weakness and despair.”
During the second half of December, after a visit to Lugo, Senator Esperanza Martínez, also from the Guasu Front, declared that the ex-bishop is not in a position to dedicate himself to politics and emphasized that no one talks with him on the subject.
Refering to possibility of withdrawing Lugo’s candidacy, Taking into account that he is unable to work for health reasons, Martínez indicated that that decision will be made by the patient’s family.
