The Minister of Ecosocialism, Josué Lorca, held a meeting with the Russian representative for climate and environmental affairs, Ruslán Edelgueríev, within the framework of the summit at the United Nations Conference on Climate Change COP29, which is taking place in Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, the leaders expressed their countries’ willingness to join forces bilaterally.
In this sense, Minister Lorca explained: “We express the importance of continuing to strengthen relations with Russia and discuss the relevant issues on the agenda of COP 29, in order to join forces to achieve common objectives and continue fighting against climate crisis.”
Lorca considered that both countries can collaborate to obtain a fair climate transformation for the well-being of humanity because “both countries with great oil and gas potential are energy powers with many things to say, propose and do based on a climate transition.” fair, equitable, that allows the effective and sustainable use of our resources and that these are a factor of well-being for our people and for humanity.”
