Agents of the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) and members of the Public Ministrysupported by the Specialized Port Security Corps (CESEP), confiscated 37 packages presumably cocaineduring joint inspection tasks carried out inside a ship, in the Port of Haina OrientalSanto Domingo Oeste municipality.
The operational teams, after receiving intelligence reports, began a verification operation on the ship, locating in one of the areas of the hold, near the bow, three black packages, containing inside a total of 37 packages of alleged cocaine, wrapped in transparent plastic covers.
According to the route plan, The ship left the Caucedo Multimodal Port and made a stopover at the Haina terminalto load other containers and from there head to its final destination, the neighboring island of Puerto Rico.
The Public Ministry and the DNCD have initiated a investigation in relation to the case, to arrest and bring to justice those involved in the frustrated international drug trafficking operation.

The 37 packages of the substance were sent under the chain of custody of the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) for the corresponding purposes.
