Four people, two from Posadas and two from Puerto Iguazú, tested positive for chikungunya in Misionesconfirmed this Friday the missionary Ministry of Public Health.
The first two infected are from Posadaswhere a 43-year-old man and his 5-year-old son tested positive for the respective test.
The test was carried out in a private laboratory in Posadas on Monday, February 13. after presenting symptoms compatible with the disease and confirmation came 24 hours later.
this friday morning the Municipality of Posadas deployed a fumigation operation in the area where the family lives, since the affected person assured that he did not leave the city in the ten days prior to the appearance of the symptoms.
The other two infected are from the town of Puerto Iguazú.
A 60-year-old woman, “an isolated case with an established epidemiological link; and a 72-year-old man, an isolated case with an epidemiological link under study,” officially reported.
All reported cases were operated on by the Primary Care and Environmental Health (APS) team and municipal teams according to the protocol of the Manual of Standards and Procedures for Surveillance and Control of mandatory notification events (ENO) 2022.
Among the symptoms there may be joint pain, fever, headache, and muscle pain.
Chikungunya is a disease transmitted by the Aedes Aegypti mosquito.also a transmitter of dengue, zika and yellow fever.
