They confirmed a positive case of chikungunya in Chaco

The Aedes aegypty mosquito is the only transmitter of chikungunya among humans.

The Chaco Ministry of Health confirmed a non-indigenous case of chikungunya, viral disease transmitted to humans by mosquitoes infected with the virus, and another case of a patient who was also outside the province is analyzed.

“We have another suspected case, it belongs to the same family group and had also traveled to Paraguay,” specified Paula Sartor, Chaco’s Undersecretary of Health Promotion.

Sartor recalled that both in cases of dengue and chikungunya transmission is through the bite of aedes aegypti mosquitoes And it is not spread from one person to another.

Meanwhile, the minister of health from Chaco, Carolina Centeno, recommended through her social networks that those who plan to travel to Brazil and Paraguay take extreme care, use personal and environmental repellent and barriers such as mosquito netting in the environments.
