There is great concern in indigenous communities of Alta Guajira, in the jurisdiction of Uribia, due to the incursion of armed men and the presence of armed groups such as the National Liberation Army (ELN)which are frightening the inhabitants.
This was confirmed by the Secretary of the Government of La Guajira, Misael Velásquez Granadillo, who indicated that have received several complaints from traditional authorities and community leaders of Flor del Paraíso, where they are informed that this group reaches the communities and proceeds to destroy them.

“As a result of this situation Two security councils were held where all the corresponding institutions participated. The army is already present in the entire area indicated,” said Government Secretary Misael.
“What is true is that There is a presence of the ELN, this was determined in the overflight inspections carried out by the Air Force and the Army also verified it. When we arrived at the first opportunity, we had nothing because we did not have a precise location, but the Army is already providing support to the communities,” the official said.
