The Court of Appeal confirmed the resolution of the criminal judge of Guarantees José Agustín Delmás who had admitted the accusation and prosecuted the former Minister of the Interior Arnaldo Giuzzio for his link with a drug trafficker.
On August 18, after the accusation presented by prosecutors Osmar Legal and Alicia Sapriza against Arnaldo Giuzzio for aggravated passive bribery, Judge Delmás accepted the accusation and prosecuted the former minister, in addition to calling him to a hearing to impose measures.
But his defense appealed the measure and requested the annulment of the accusation, the magistrate rejected the request and went to the Chamber that now indicates that there are no elements to not accept what was requested by the prosecution and confirmed the decision by Judge Delmás.
In this way, the accusation is firm and the case must continue, where the imposition of alternative measures to prison is pending. Later, the other Chicanas that were presented by the lawyer Guillermo Duarte Cacavelos, representing Giuzzio, are being resolved so that the case does not continue.
Arnaldo Giuzzio is being prosecuted for his link with drug trafficker Marcus Vinicius Espinola, who is now in prison in Brazil, facing trials for drug trafficking.
According to the indictment, when Giuzzio was Minister of the Interior, he had a relationship with the drug trafficker whose company was about to win a tender that was going to provide the Police with armored vehicles and bulletproof vests. The prosecution also suspects that at least 10 cars belonging to the Ministry of the Interior have already been repaired by the company Black Eagle Group-Omnu SA belonging to Marcus Vinicius, without prior bidding.
In addition, there is a precedent that the Brazilian drug trafficker lent Giuzzio a luxurious truck so that he could go on vacation to Brazil with his family, which demonstrated the friendship that existed between the two.
