The general director in charge of the Terrestrial Transit and Transportation Authority (ATTT), Carlos Ordóñez, confirmed that by means of the certificate it will be the methodology to distribute the subsidy of $ 3 million, referring to the economic aid of the Government for fuel to selective transporters and collectives.
He stated that this decision was approved on Wednesday afternoon in a session of the ATTT Board of Directors.
He indicated that this aid will be distributed in equal parts, and that it will include carriers that have their respective certifications in order.
“By means of the identity card, a pin will be obtained, and when the carrier goes to the fuel station, the transport plate and the vehicle’s particular plate will be used,” Ordóñez explained.
Prior to this approval, the ATTT held several virtual meetings where the National Authority for Government Innovation (AIG), the National Secretariat of Energy, members of the National Chamber of Transportation (Canatra) and users participated, to advance details of what the way to pay.
In mid-November, the Cabinet Council approved the resolution authorizing the delivery of an economic benefit of $ 3 million to carriers until next December, to avoid an increase in the passage of Panamanians.
The Presidency of the Republic, through a statement, reported that this resolution adopts measures to alleviate the impact on users of public, collective and selective transport, due to the rise in the price of fuel that is used by the country’s carriers.
