The judges of the Superior Court of Appeals decided this Friday to maintain the precautionary measure of provisional detention for Nicel Solano, a former official of the Judicial Branch (OJ), and José Manuel Cortez, both accused of allegedly providing confidential information to a criminal group.
The decision to maintain the provisional detention measure was due to the existence of a telephone communication that was evaluated by a police analyst and for this reason they decided that the ideal was to confirm the measure.
The defense lawyers argued that neither of the two defendants are responsible for what they are accused of and they assure that these accusations are based solely on the interpretation made by the Police analyst of the conversations that took place in the offices of the Judicial Branch, from a cell phone. Solano’s lawyer reiterates that she never used the cell phone in question and that the recording analyzed took place in an office other than the one where she worked.
