This Sunday marks one year since the death of G/J Jorge Luis García Carneiro, former governor of La Guaira, and his legacy was praised by several people such as the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.
«A year ago I received one of the hardest blows, when firing a loved one, exceptional, such as García Carneiro. The G/J of loyalty, firmness and bravery. Because of men like him, we have a victorious Revolution. His work will endure. Honor and Glory!” the president wrote on Twitter.
The mayor of the Vargas municipality, José Manuel Suárez, also recalled Carneiro’s legacy, whom he described as a “great man who loved La Guaira with his life and erased the traces of a tragedy from his face.”
«One year of your sowing. You are present in every corner. In the happiness of your people, those people who loved you as you loved them, for whom we worked tirelessly for years to dignify them. Honor and glory, father and great friend,” Suarez wrote.
The Guaireño people will pay tribute to Carneiro in an act that takes place in the Plaza Bolívar-Chávez de La Guaira.
Deputies, mayors and governors have also expressed their words of honor for Carneiro, as is the case of the president of Portuguesa, Primitivo Cedeño.
«One year after the physical disappearance of G/J García Carneiro. We remember that May 22, when a patriotic, loyal and brave soldier, an example of the struggle for peace and well-being of the people, moved to another plane, being Acting Governor of the state of La Guaira », he maintained.
