The sectoral vice president of Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Hairled this Tuesday the commemorative events held at the National Pantheon, in Caracas, for the 194th anniversary of the passage into eternity of the Liberator Simón Bolívar.
The Minister for Interior Relations, Justice and Peace was accompanied by the first vice president of the National Assembly, Pedro Infante; the Minister for Culture, Ernesto Villegas; the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez; the head of Government of Caracas, Nahum Fernández, along with other authorities and representatives of the military high command.
During the activity, the national flag was raised to pay tribute to the father of the country.
President Maduro highlights Bolívar’s legacy
The President of the Republic, Nicolas Madurofor its part, highlighted Bolívar’s legacy by leaving “his doctrine, thought and example of ideas and action, of the man of difficulties who never tired of fighting for the freedom of an entire continent.”
“Our Bolívar, Bolívar as always, Bolívar as a challenge, Bolívar as a commitment, Bolívar as morality! The best way to honor him is from political ethics, with virtuosity, courage, selflessness and anti-imperialist fidelity,” he stated in a message published on his social media accounts.
The president expressed that with Bolívar they are and continue “for maximum happiness, raising his flag, enlightening our people”, to the struggle of Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as to the causes of justice in the world.
In the San Pedro Alejandrino farm located in Santa Marta, Colombia, El Libertador passed into eternity at the age of 47, being one of the greatest men of the independence struggles in the region to achieve the liberation of the territories that today day are Venezuela, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama and Peru of Spanish colonialism.
