He Ministry of Tourismthrough the Police Tour (Politur), ordered from this Monday, December 2 to Thursday, December 5, the closure of the pier of Saint Peter of Macorís, in order to conclude the work of reconstruction of the work.
The measure was imposed to avoid crowding of people in the tourist area and so that workers can move forward with the removal of the pier.
Currently, the pier is being asphalted, jobs that were assigned to the Kuky Construction Company.
The Police Nationaltogether with Politur, the municipal council and other authorities, will be working to verify compliance with the provision.

According to the executors of the project, the work of reconstruction of the pier of the aforementioned municipality advance by 90%.

About the work
He minister of Tourismleft the remodeling started on October 30, 2022, for the reconstruction of the infrastructure recreational of the pier of Saint Peter from Macoris. The contract was signed for 260 million pesos.
The project has an extension of 1.84 kilometers, which includes the creation of a linear park, with a total intervention area of 60,000 square meters, within which work on approximately 12,000 square meters of sidewalks will be carried out.
Through the work, it is planned to carry out a landscape intervention throughout the pierthe central island and the sea front. To that would be added recreational areas such as plazas, children’s games, an outdoor gym and a volleyball court, among other attractions.
