MADRID, Spain.- The popular orchestra El Niño y la Verdad, directed by composer Emilio Frías, was censored during a concert this Saturday at the Casa de la Música de Galiano, in Havana.
When Frías spoke to the public about the censorship To his song “Cambio”, which will premiere on YouTube on September 16, security agents from the place turned off the audio.
Before the repressors decided to end the concert, Frías told the public: “Maybe I could be wrong, but my mistake is mine. I am not saying that, as I think, many people think. I haven’t said anything, they’ve put everything together here… And if they’re going to do that, really, I tell them, if they’re going to get like that, don’t invite me anymore. Don’t call me anymore, and get me out of everywhere. Get me off the TV, get me off the radio. The only place they won’t be able to get me out of is from the hearts of all Cubans. Wherever I am, I will be in the hearts and minds of all Cubans. I just have to tell you: May Yemayá’s blessing always reach everyone!
As seen in images shared on social networksan audio technician was violently expelled from the place for refusing to turn off the sound amplification equipment.
“Let people see you turning it off. He is finished. Knock it down if you want now”, Emilio Frías said to one of the censors and began to sing “Agua pa’ Yemayá”, to close the concert, but they didn’t let him finish.
This Friday the musician had announced his presentation, noting that he was saying goodbye to the Cuban stages for a while, as the group was going on tour in Mexico.
in bliss publication Frías had referred to the song “Cambio” as a theme “with which many Cubans inside and outside the Island will identify.” “The word Change is very necessary,” he stressed.
