Two individuals who possessed three firearms were detained by troops assigned to the Rural Command Detachment 34-3 of the Bolivarian National Guard that patrols the Aguaro-Guariquito National Park, military sources said.
The arrest of the three subjects took place in the Manapire Viejo sector, Juan José Rondón municipality (Las Mercedes del Llano), Guárico. Two 12-gauge shotguns, a 44-gauge rifle and five 12-gauge cartridges were seized from the men.
The detainees are identified as Cándido Rafael Salcedo Díaz and Samir Eduardo Bolívar Caña. These people were denounced by a peasant who had previously been attacked and threatened with death by Salcedo and Bolívar if he went to the authorities.
The detainees will be prosecuted for illegal possession of a firearm.
They arrested at the request of a military court
In another procedure, in the El Yoco sector, Valdez municipality (Güira), Sucre, Jorgenis Manuel Rojas (30) was captured and seven 7.62 x 39 mm cartridges destined for rifles were seized, said a military source.
Rojas was verified in the Police Information and Investigation System (Siipol) and turned out to be requested by the 15th Military Court of Control of Maturín, Monagas state, according to file No. FM62110-2019 dated 02/03/2020.
The detainee was handed over to the Public Ministry for illegal possession of ammunition.
