They were detained in Maripa, Bolívar state, by agents attached to the GNB’s Zone Command No. 62
Four members of the Los Jíbaros criminal organization were arrested while transporting 11 marijuana panels, according to military sources.
The procedure was carried out in Maripa (Bolívar) by agents assigned to Zone Command No. 62 of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB).
The drug was transported hidden in the spare tire of a Mitsubishi Signo, license plate AC614PB, and in the sound box. The 11 panelas yielded a weight of ten kilograms with nine hundred twenty-five grams.
In addition to the drug shipment, the military seized two bulletproof vests and five telephone sets.
When the cache was detected, the officials proceeded to arrest the occupants of the vehicle, who were registered as Simón Isaac Salazar Pérez, José Ricardo Díaz Rojas, Carlos Enríquez Jiménez Guerrero and Fernando Antonio Rodríguez Herrera.
The five were handed over to the Public Ministry where they opened a file for illicit drug trafficking.
