The Bolivarian National Guard detained a woman who acted as a supplier of ammunition to the criminal gang founded by Darwin Rivas (el Cagón), according to military sources.
The detainee was identified as Maitbelys Daboin Segovia, captured in the Las Delicias sector, Andrés Bello municipality (Santa Isabel), Trujillo state. They seized a smoke grenade, 31 rifle cartridges and telephone equipment from the woman, according to a report from Detachment 231 of the GNB.
Maitbelys was handed over to the Public Ministry where they opened a file for illegal possession of war material, among other crimes.
Last week two members of the El Cagón gang were killed during clashes in Zulia and Trujillo. In San Timoteo (Zulia) one of the victims fell, whose identity was not specified. Alias el Cagón is wanted by security agencies due to his involvement in extortion, kidnapping, homicide, terrorism and vehicle theft, according to a file published by the Ministry of the Interior, Justice and Peace, where a reward of $150,000 is offered for information that lead to his arrest.
And in another military procedure carried out in La Romana, Piar municipality (Upata), Bolívar, a .38 caliber revolver, four cartridges of the same caliber, a Horse II motorcycle, license plate AB4R36F, where Edgar Rafael Rodríguez was traveling, who was detained, were confiscated. according to minutes of Detachment 625 of the GNB to which we had partial access.
