A woman was apprehended by police units in coordination with the Public Ministry for possibly being related to the crime of extortion in the San Cristóbal sector, in the province of Chiriquí.
According to the Public Ministry, this citizen was required for the crime of extortion, since she operated by making phone calls and indicating that she was keeping a family member kidnapped, thus requesting the deposit of a certain amount of money to be released.
The woman was found with money withdrawal slip from several banking entities, in addition to cell phones and debit cards.
It should be noted that this modality has become very common and in general no kidnapping is committed and after verifying this situation, the victims of extortion file complaints with the authorities. It is recommended that in the case of receiving these types of calls, you contact the police.
