The Ministry of Public Works (MOP), reported this Thursday, October 27, that street repair work is being carried out in La Pesa de La Chorrera, for which detours have been enabled in the La Pesa de La Chorrera area, specifically in the Extension to Six Lanes of the Beach Corridor.
Gilberto Marengo, director of Special Projects of the MOP explained that a removal and relocation of Jersey was carried out to gain space on the roads and thus guarantee a greater vehicular flow, mainly for the next days of national holidays that are used by Panamanians to travel to The inside of the country.
«The relocation of the Jerseys was done from the La Herradura sector near McDonald’s towards the return of La Pesa. It is more than 4 kilometers,” added Marengo.
This Thursday work was done on the patching of several points of the road both towards the Capira sector and towards Panama City.
Likewise, some areas of the road in front of the Terpel gas station are being leveled towards Panama City, where there are low points and vehicular traffic is affected by the rains.
“We are going to asphalt this Friday, October 28. These works are coordinated with the Land Transit and Transportation Authority (Attt) preparing us for the great vehicular flow for the national holidays, “added Marengo.
Specifically, a total of 100 tons of asphalt is expected to be placed at this point.
Marengo pointed out that these works are expected to be completed this Saturday, October 29, so that next week there will be a road that allows greater traffic flow.
All these tasks are part of the Beach Corridor Expansion to Six Lanes project, where piles, column foundations and diversions are carried out, the MOP indicated.
