The Directorate of Real Estate Assets (DBI) of the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) analyzes the applications of the frontists who do not meet the requirements for collection of lost profits.
Natalia Aranda, director of the DBI, reported that the Expropriations Law, in an article, contemplates lost profits, whose specific regulations have a series of requirements.
“Not all requests can be fulfilled by the MOPC, but it will be referred to other institutions to assist everyone,” he remarked.
Aranda reported that since July, the DBI analyzes the applications of the frontists who benefit from this law and affirms that those who meet the requirements will access this charge.
“We have 80 forms, many of which are already in that area, but we are going to respond to all of them. There will be people who will access this profit and others who will not apply, ”he explained.
Likewise, he stressed that work will be done with the Public Works Commission of the Legislative Branch to derive cases that do not apply for collection, so that other ministries can take action and assist these people.
He recalled that some of the fundamental requirements established in this law are: that the activity be in the property of that person, that they have the property title, presentation of the last three years of balance, taxes, municipal patents, among other points. .
On this point, the director explained that when a road work is planned, the land that will be needed for its execution is analyzed, the expropriation is carried out and subsequently the affected people are compensated. In this concept, the MOPC paid a little more than G. 42,000 million for this project.
“There were 168 affected and some did not present the lost profit because perhaps there are businesses that did not close completely,” he said.
