Personnel from the Civil Protection Secretariat of Río Negro carry out an operation to rescue a group of vendors in the Chenqueniyen area, near the city of Ñorquinco in the southern region, who are isolated by snow as a result of the storm that affects the area, it was officially reported.
Work began on Saturday with 4×4 trucks, but It has not yet been possible to reach the upper area due to the amount of existing snow.
“Today they will try to do the same with UTV vehicles with special tracks to move in the snow and thus gain access to the area,” provincial Civil Protection spokesmen reported this Sunday.

After the alert, personnel from the Civil Protection Operations Directorate, the Río Negro Police Mountain Patrol, based in El Bolsón, and the Ñorquinco Fire Department, began rescue work with their vehicles, but the amount of snow existing prevented them from accessing the upper zone until now.
The town of Ñorquinco is located in the southern region, 180 kilometers from San Carlos de Bariloche and 700 kilometers from Viedma.
The area, which is accessed by provincial routes No. 6 and national No. 40, is affected by a snowstorm.
