The Metropolitan Health Region carried out an inspection operation in search of breeding sites for the Aedes Aegypti mosquito, which transmits dengue in the township of Felipillo.
In the operation, an inspection was carried out in the Nueva Esperanza Arriba sector with a total of 132 inspected properties; three kennels found and eliminated, and one citation for a fine.
The five townships with the highest rate of cases are: December 24 with 13 confirmed cases and 33 suspects; Ancón with 6 confirmed and 3 suspects; Bella Vista with 1 Suspect, Betania with 14 confirmed and 7 suspects and Curundú with 7 confirmed and 1 suspect.
The Metropolitan Health Region called on the community to be aware of the spread of dengue cases, and reiterated that, although the figures are low, one should not lower the guard and clean the lots and eliminate the breeding sites.
The Ministry of Health reiterates to the population to eliminate possible breeding sites such as tires, garbage, stagnant waters where the dengue-transmitting mosquito can develop, since the fumigations eliminate the adult mosquito and not the larvae.
