The Panamanian authorities captured the murderer of the Venezuelan Mairet Domínguez Martínez, a 33-year-old English teacher from the state Aragua.
The man strangled the Venezuelan woman on June 18, 2022 in apartment PH 88 in the district of Bethania, in Panamathen stole it and subsequently set the residence on fire to simulate an accident.
As published on its website by the newspaper The Century of Panamathe police had registered the novelty as an accident, but later the investigations showed that Mairet had been killed.
The autopsy examination revealed that the teacher had died as a result of strangulation and that she died before the fire started in her room.
In security videos of the apartment where the Venezuelan lived, it is seen when a young man, of medium height, athletic build, with a beard and dark complexion, entered the apartment at approximately 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 18.
An hour later the man left the apartment with a laptop, a television among other items and 5 minutes later the fire started.
At the beginning of July, the Specialized Homicide and Femicide Section of the Metropolitan Prosecutor’s Office of Panama published on social networks and local press videos where the murderer was appreciated and requested the collaboration of citizens to find the identity and location of the individual.
On July 13, Mairet’s murderer was captured in the afternoon by units of the Judicial Investigation Directorate (DIJ) at La Gran Estación.
It transpired in the media that the man frequently visited Mairet and that he apparently received English classes.
The Venezuelan professor was a graduate of the Libertador Experimental Polytechnic University of Maracay.
