They capture the mother of the abandoned newborn in Barinas

Court sentenced 2 for kidnapping a woman

Zoralys Carolina Castillo Camacho, 35 years old, was arrested when she went to a health center to undergo curettage.

At the disposal of the Ninth Prosecutor’s Office of the Public Ministry of the state of Barinas was Zoralys Carolina Castillo Camacho, 35 years old, who was arrested after being allegedly involved in the abandonment of a newborn baby on a soccer field in Barinitas, last Sunday.

The capture took place at the Samuel Darío Maldonado Maternal and Child Hospital, where the woman went to have a curettage performed, after a birth that would have occurred in improvised conditions in her home, which generated the alert.

Officials from the Barinas Municipal Police were monitoring the hospital centers in the region, anticipating that the mother would seek medical attention as a result of the recent birth.

Sources told local media that the woman declared that she gave the newborn to a family member to hand her over to a protection agency and denied that she left her abandoned on the soccer field.

The girl, whom the medical staff of the Maternal and Child Hospital of Barinas provisionally named Barbara, is in good health and receives adequate medical and social care.
