Police forces captured the author of the multiple murder that took place last week on the terraces. The fugitive “attentive against his life” during the raid, which apparently took place in the Bahía Honda municipality, also of Artemis.
Identified as Arisley Cabeza Reyes, aka Perico, the man had finalized Francisco Torres Rodríguez, 80 years old, and his son Yaciel Torres Remedio (46), who were found lifeless in the afternoon-night of September 5.
According to Facebook Artemisa Rebelde profile, indicated by some as close to the Ministry of Interior (Minint), because the attentive fugitive against his life had to be helped at the Bahía Honda hospital, and from there he moved to the Calixto García hospital in Havana.
After his recovery he will be made available to the Prosecutor’s Office, according to the note from which the journalist Ana Teresa Badia has echoed.
The victims of Cabezas Reyes were killed in the place known as Finca El Cusco, intricate site of Las Terrazas, mountainous area of the Candelaria municipality. Their bodies were found outside the house and in locations other than that geographical area.
Initially, the Ministry of the Interior of Artemisa said that the investigation was ongoing, and that it was unaware of the identity “of the authors of the violent fact, in which it is presumed, there are several involved.”
According to unofficial sources, the man, who had escaped from the CEIBA prison last week and was heavily armed, also killed his ex -partner in San Cristóbal.

In recent months, a cluster of criminal events on the island has been reported, something that many interpret it as a rebound in population violence, beaten by the deep and prolonged economic and social crisis that the country is going through.
According to data managed by agency APcrimes of all kinds occurred in Cuba during the first half of 2025 tripled with respect to the same period of the previous year.
The statistics compiled by the Cuban Observatory of Citizen Audit indicate that at that time there were 1319 crimes -from theft and assaults until drug trafficking -, which contrasts with the 432 recorded in the first six months of 2024.
